Shell Oil
Over four years experience at this large energy company specializing in oil and gas upstream accounting. It was during this time that I first applied PC based software solutions to accomplish process redesign objectives necessary to gain overhead efficiencies. Most sophisticated solutions were Microsoft Access databases; warehousing reporting data for flux analysis, a SRA bonus tracking system, a vendor tacking system, and a sour gas plant allocation program. These "stop-gap" solutions alleviated critical accounting problems which were not adequately addressed in the enterprise systems. Spent an additional two years providing part time consultant/programming support. (VBA programming utilized in plant system)

Hibernia National Bank   
Two years experience in the Retail Credit Systems of this regional sized Louisiana bank provided the foundational skills of analyzing data requirements, mapping those requirements to the client system, and providing customized reporting to assist in transitional business needs. Utilized JCL scripts and the mainframe SQL report writer (FOCUS) in analyzing and providing specialized management information reports to business managers. The loan system was an AS/400 system and much experience was gained in providing client/server management information solutions. Our department successfully completed eight small bank conversions whose retail portfolios were acquired as community banks were absorbed.

Lake Forest Ranch  
A two year hiatus at this regional sized Christian camp and conference center laid a foundation of understanding the diverse facets of managing a small operation (1/2 million in revenue) with a unique emphasis of upgrading its technological capabilities. Though this assignment primarily equipped for supervisory and "people skills" (many times a forgotten vital ingredient of successful technology projects) PC skills were further honed and a multi-user registration system was written in Access which has been utilized by the operation for over five years. Some exposure to the Unix environment was also gained as the financials operated on a corporate contributor's Unix box.

Gilsbar, Inc  
A large regional third party administration and consulting company with sophisticated reporting needs. Technical aspects comprised approximately half of the account coordination duties for which I was responsible. The coordinator's goal was to ensure the demanding needs of a 7,000 plus life health insurance account were met. Complex coordination between brokers, insurance carriers, account vendors, and a substantial corporate structure was required. Life cycle of the assignment was from point of transition/conversion well-through account stabilization. This assignment included project management of part of the initial conversion and subsequent vendor transitions/conversion including other substantial account activity.
